Supported Employment
Supported Employment is offered in California
to assist adults with disabilies to obtain and keep work.
The services at Your Work Connection (YWC) can
help you to make more money, rely less on your Social Secuity, have
more money to spend, be more independent, be apart of the work
force, make new friends and to be part of the community that you
live in.
To obtain services from YWC, you need to be a
client of the Far Northern Regional Center (FNRC). You need to be
referred to the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). A counselor
from the DOR will make a referral to YWC. If you are not a client
of FNRC or DOR, we can provide you with information on private pay
for service.
Our fees are set by the state of California. We
receive $400.00 to complete your intake and initial plan for
service. We are paid $800.00 to provide job development services
from which you receive placement. Job coaching is paid at the rate
of $34.24 per hour.
Unemployment rates for persons with disabilities
can be high.
The people we work with enjoy independence and
integration in their community that comes from having a job. The
income from their job allows them to rely less on government
assistance and more on themselves. Employers have complimented the
enthusiasm, loyalty, and dedication of the employees that have been
hired through YWC.
